What kind of jobs are available?

Click the name of each company to be taken to their hiring page! If they don’t have any positions listed wait a bit and try again. Some employers post jobs as needed and some post them seasonally.

Where applicable I’ve included searching just for Antarctica jobs in the link itself. For example, with Leidos just ignore the location for each position stating it’s Colorado and actually click through and read each job description as many of them deploy to Antarctica for a season or two each year.

  • You can also always check USAP themselves for additional employers. As I don’t check these links constantly, there’s a chance that new contracts are in place and thus there are different options available.
  • There are a few additional employers listed on this page too for your perusal that might have a job that suits you. A few are:
    • The NSF and NSF OPP
    • Kenn Borek Air
    • PHI

Don’t mind going to a non-US station? The following places hire non-citizens too! If you’re not a US citizen, do a quick Google search with “Antarctica Program” and your country of residence and you may find something as over 30 countries have stations here.

Antarctica New Zealand

  • To be fair, I don’t actually know for sure that they hire Americans but I heard a story about one of ours that went to work for them after her season with USAP.  Their website states “residents or legally entitled to work in New Zealand.”
  • You’d be next door to US’s McMurdo Station.
